It looks like Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are more than just friendly costars.

Last Wednesday, as Cyrus bid Australian actor Liam Hemsworth goodbye at the Nashville airport, the two kissed – and were “full-on making out,” says Alex Emanuel, a New York actor who was a few feet away from the couple and saw Cyrus, 16, act “as giddy as a schoolgirl.”

Hemsworth jumped out of Cyrus’s truck with his luggage and headed for the terminal doors when “she jumped into his arms and threw her arms around his neck and kissed him and leaned back and he was dipping her,” says Emanuel. “It was like a scene out of an old movie where the guy’s getting on a train and they’re saying their goodbyes.”

The two actors recently wrapped the film The Last Song (also starring Kelly Preston and Greg Kinnear) in Tybee, Georgia, and attended the film’s wrap party together on Aug. 16.

According to Cyrus’ Twitter posts, she is maintaining her single status. “I do not have a boyfriend,” she writes.

But she says shhe’s been teaching Hemsworth a thing or two about Southern eats. “@mommytish and @auntedi and I are introducing the aussie to cracker barrel!!! Yummyyy” Cyrus wrote about taking Hemsworth to the restaurant chain.

She also revealed they like to stay in and nosh in front of the TV. Her Aug. 14th Tweet: “I kinda want to go see ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’ but I think I’ll just sit around and eat sushi and watch “Liar Liar” with Liam”

Cyrus’ publicist had no comment.

Two records break and Miley Cyrus and Jay-Z make noise on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.

As reported yesterday, the Black Eyed Peas break the record for the longest No. 1 stay for an act on the chart, with current chart topper “I Gotta Feeling” and previous No. 1 “Boom Boom Pow” dominating for a combined 20 weeks. That breaks Usher’s record from 2004, when “Yeah!” and “Burn” were No. 1 for a total of 19 consecutive weeks.

Jason Mraz is this week’s other record breaker, with “I’m Yours” notching its 70th week on the Hot 100. Thanks to 4.4 million total downloads and airplay on top 40, adult top 40, adult contemporary and triple A radio, “I’m Yours” beats LeAnn Rimes’ “How Do I Live” for the song with the longest life on the Hot 100.

Crashing the party is Miley Cyrus with “Party In The U.S.A.,” which debuts at No. 2 for her best-ever ranking on the chart. The song, which previews Cyrus’ Walmart exclusive CD “The Time of our Lives,” due Aug. 31, also opens at No. 1 on Hot Digital Songs with 226,000 downloads.

After Miley Cyrus performed her new single “Party in the U.S.A.” at the Teen Choice Awards on August 10 — while dancing around what appeared to be a stripper pole — the singer garnered criticism about the performance, not least from Disney, the company that airs “Hannah Montana” and releases her recordings.

But her dad, Billy Ray, is coming to the defense of his 16-year-old daughter and the performance that had everyone talking. “You know what? I just think that Miley loves entertaining people,” Billy Ray told Access Hollywood. “She loves singing [and] songwriting.”

He added that he tells his kids to do what they think is right, no matter what other people might have to say about their decisions. “I always tell her to love what you’re doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinion,” he said.

Billy Ray also spoke to UsMagazine.com about the performance, noting that he isn’t there to inhibit his kids’ creative and artistic expressions. “I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they wanna make, and make it in their own voice,” he said. “I think it’s important.”

In the days after the show, Disney issued a statement about the performance, noting that what the “Hannah Montana” star did onstage there had nothing to do with the network. “Disney Channel won’t be commenting on that performance, although parents can rest assured that all content presented on the Disney Channel is age-appropriate for our audience — kids 6-14 — and consistent with what our brand values are.”

Miley Cyrus is about to get sexy!

The Hannah Montana star, 16, has reportedly landed herself a role in the Sex and the City movie sequel.

The teen queen sees appearing alongside the show’s leading ladies — Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon — as a way of becoming a serious actress.

“Miley sees this as a transition from teen stardom to more adult roles,” dished a Hollywood insider.

“We’re all wondering how long it will take Kim to have Miley knocking back Cosmos and ogling all the men. Seriously though, all the girls are excited to have Miley on board.”

Details of Miley’s role are still unknown.

Hi Miley! What would you get up to on the perfect day?
At the moment, the perfect day would involve a sleep-in! I’m a night owl who loves to stay up late – but then I find myself with a 6 a.m. start time and I’ll end up having only two hours sleep. That’s why my perfect day would involve sleeping in and then hanging out by the pool with my mom.

What’s the best way to chill out?
I love being at home – especially when I’m out by the pool. We have a waterfall in our backyard and it’s beautiful. It’s lovely to sit out there alone. In fact, I like anywhere I can just be alone. I love being alone!

What else do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to ride my bike and I love reading. I also like to watch movies and stay up late. Staying up late is great because I find it really relaxing. It’s the only time when everyone else is asleep, so I can have some alone time.

Wait a minute… You haven’t mentioned shopping yet! Don’t you enjoy shopping?
I love, love, love to go shopping! What girl doesn’t?! I don’t get to shop as much as I like to, but when I can, I’ll go for it.

Where do you keep all your new clothes?
I have a great walk-in closet at home. My closet is the best closet you’ve ever seen! It’s huge and it’s filled to the brim because I love clothes.

What else are you obsessed with?
I am completely obsessed with Twitter. I love it. I’m always writing on it and chatting to fans. It’s fun. I like Tweeting.

What about travel? Would you like to take a trip around the world?
Definitely! There are loads of things I want to do. I’d love to take off and go backpacking around Europe, but I think it might be a little difficult.
