Just two weeks into her Wonder World tour and Miley Cyrus is already feeling the strain of life on the road.

“Woke up with a sore throat,” Cyrus, 17, posted on her Twitter account Tuesday, with a frown face emoticon. “Why am I always sick?”

Though she tried to get plenty of rest before her show in Salt Lake City Tuesday night, the singer ran off stage while performing “7 Things” and a stage manager told the crowd that Cyrus needed medical attention, according to The Salt Lake Tribune. She re-emerged onto the stage after 15 minutes and completed the show, but later announced she had strep throat.

Cyrus told her fans via Twitter on Wednesday to keep their “fingers crossed” she feels better for her nighttime Omaha concert.

In the Cyrus family, laughter seems to be the best medicine. The ‘tween star posted a Twitter photo of her famous father, Billy Ray Cyrus, dressed in a blonde wig and hospital mask, saying “These are the times that my daddy REALLY comes in handy. He made me smile through the worst pain I’ve ever felt.”

Before she kicked off her second tour this month, Cyrus – who filmed the movie The Last Song this summer and then jumped into tour rehearsals – ‘fessed up to feeling fatigued. “I’m a little tired I will admit but I’m just taking it easy when I can and take care of myself,” she told PEOPLE.

Miley Cyrus will make a cameo appearance in the Summer 2010 blockbuster Sex and The City 2, studio sources have confirmed.

The 16-year-old pop sensation will film a guest spot in the second film adaptation of the envelope-pushing
On Friday, GossipCop.com cited spies who claim that Miley will appear in a scene with Kim Cattrall, who plays slutty PR exec Samantha Jones in the franchise.

In the scene, Mario Cantone, who stars as Anthony, quips: “Mother of God! She is wearing the same dress as Hannah Montana,” to Samantha when she steps out in the same outfit as Miley.

In 2008, then 15-year-old Miley revealed that she was a “big fan” of the R-rated TV series, which stars Kim, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis as a group of devoted friends living, loving, and f*cking in New York City. At the time, Miley was being linked to a teen version of the popular franchise that would follow sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw as a young adult.

“I would like to be able to have that show because I feel like so many girls do watch that show and I feel like there should be one that is a little more kind of like, censored and age-appropriate,” Miley said last year.

Miley Cyrus made her intentions known when it came to the concept for her “Party in the U.S.A.” video: According to the director, her idea was all about “high-gloss, glamorous white trash.” For the clip, Cyrus wanted to pay tribute to her parents’ courting days as well as her favorite movie, “Grease.”

“Miley did have an idea — one of her favorite movies is ‘Grease,’ ” director Chris Applebaum told MTV News. “Everything kind of sprang forward from that scene in ‘Grease’ where John Travolta is singing … and he gets out of the car and goes to jungle gym and sits in one of the swings and sings the song at night as projections go in the background — she came to me [with that].”

In addition to the “Grease” tribute, Miley wanted to remember another time before she was born — a time when her parents were still dating.

“Interesting enough, Miley’s parents Tish and Billy Ray, when they were first dating they went to a drive-in in Kentucky, I think, called the Corral Drive-In — so we named the drive-in after that as an homage to them,” Applebaum explained. “In addition, Miley’s mom Tish used to drive ‘79 black Pontiac Trans Am, ‘Smokey and the Bandit’ style, and obviously that’s the car that Miley arrives in.”

Applebaum raved about Cyrus, insisting she isn’t just a cookie-cutter pop star — she’s the real deal. “I really like her a lot and I’ve worked with pretty much every female pop star. … She’s fun and she’s personal and she’s smart in a way that you’d want one of your best buddies to be,” he explained. “She’s more like a guy than a girl. She doesn’t take herself too seriously. She’s a real artist, she comes from that background. She’s just a hard worker.”

He notes that Cyrus is such a tomboy that if she were placed in a room with some of the biggest stars today, male and female, you’d see Cyrus hanging out with the boys. “Say there was a celebrity star-studded event and people at the party — Britney’s there, Rihanna’s there, Beyoncé’s there, but also, like, Jay-Z is there and Kid Rock is there. I could easily see a scene where you walk into a room and you see Kid Rock and Jay-Z standing next to each other laughing hysterically, and as you get closer you realize they’re standing around Miley, who is telling them stories and cracking jokes.”

Miley Cyrus new Associated Press interview! “On my Twitter, (I get) so many replies like “This song inspires me’ and “This inspires me.” ..One of the reasons why I love that site is being able to see what people are saying about the record.”

On whether some songs are ‘too personal’ to write: “Yes, sometimes I write songs just to write them. I have written thousands of songs that are just for me. I will even play them for my friends, and they will say, “Will that be on your next record?” and I’ll say, “No, that was just for me. That was just for my peace of mind.”

“And I think that is important to do that. Not always writing a song and be like, “Oh, that is going to be on a record.’ If it sounds great and it is something that you think goes along with the album that you are putting together, that is awesome. If not then it’s cool. It doesn’t matter.’”

What is the most diva like thing about you? “This tour is the most diva thing. Because when I got here, it was like, “OK, we are not messing around, this thing is going to be like full out. We are going to get everything, it’s going to continue to blow peoples minds.” And everyone was like, “Alright Miley is stepping it up.” And I was like, “Yeah, it is my tour.” The first time I was actually going out, no Hannah Montana, none of that. Just my own style.”

Will you retire the ‘Hannah Montana’ character? “I thought about retiring when I was like 15. Just kidding. I would have retired like twelve years ago. I want to continue to do everything I can. My dad always says, ‘If you ain’t having fun, it ain’t working.’ And so when I stop having fun, I’ll just quit everything altogether. But, I’m having fun.. I think I will forever do that, if I have the people that I’m around still around me. They make me happy, and the people that I work with I really love. ..I will be able to tour the rest of my life if I am having fun.”

What is your biggest mistake? “I think everything I do is exaggerated a lot. I think that no matter what, I think it is all about respect. People forget that when you are in the public eye, people forget you still have to respect people and you still have to (respect) their privacy. And also respect my family and trust the fact that my parents are raising me just like everyone else is raising their kids. They are doing it the way they want to. It is not for the media or for any one else to judge how they should or should not raise me.”

It looks like Miley Cyrus’ on-set romance with her Last Song costar Liam Hemsworth wasn’t just a summer fling.

The Australian hottie was in the audience for Miley’s sold-out show at the Staples Center last night, and he wasn’t just there as a fan like Ashley Tisdale and Miranda Cosgrove.

According to a source, Liam is officially her boyfriend and the couple have been dating for more than three months.

And being the savvy marketer she is, Miley’s already found a way to incorporate her new man into her show…

Before she performed a song from their movie, Miley gushed about how life really can imitate art as a makeout montage of them played behind her.

The twosome didn’t try to hide their affection later at her private afterparty at Katsuya, where they were “lovey-dovey.”

So what if Miley Cyrus is only 16? She says she’s found her voice as a musician and it shows on her new EP, The Times of Our Lives. “I think I’ve been able to give myself more say. I think at first I was a little more afraid of what I could and what I could not say,” the singer and actress told the Associated Press prior to her performance at the VH1 Divas concert last night in NYC.
Not only has Miley grown as a musician, she says she’s grown as a woman as well.

“I think about it any time I write a song. I’m like, “Why can’t I say that? Why can’t you say what you feel?” asks Miley. “There shouldn’t be an age or a certain kind of cookie-cutter way of doing things. You can say what you want to. It’s about being an artist. That’s what an artist is.”

Miley Cyrus is set to collaborate with Sheryl Crow for VH1’s Divas Live Concert, hosted by Paula Abdul. Adele will sing with India.Arie, Jennifer Hudson with Stevie Wonder, Jordin Sparks with Martina McBride, Kelly Clarkson with Melissa Etheridge, and Leona Lewis with Cyndi Lauper. The headliners will sing solos.

Presenters include: Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb, Kathy Griffin, Toni Braxton, Ryan Kwanten, Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, Asher Book, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Kherington Payne, Naturi Naughton and Walter Perez, Bethenny Frankel, Kim Zolciak and Nene Leakes.

Jordin told USA Today: “Divas have gotten a bad rap, like it’s supposed to mean that you’re demanding and crazy. But a diva is really someone who can just captivate an audience with her voice.”

Miley added, “It’s a person who’s bigger than life. My dad had me listening to Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash.”

“To be a diva, you have to pay your dues, but you don’t have to be older to have paid dues. ..I couldn’t care less about fashion in real life, but it’s a huge part of performance. So I’ll have a red-carpet look, another look for my song and another look when I sing with Sheryl.”

CNN: You know what I found surprising? That you didn’t have a lot of handlers saying, “You need to stay away from this topic or that question.” None of that.

Miley: I think the reason that a lot of people have to have a lot of people around is just about being smart and knowing what you want to talk about. I want people to know who I am. Respect is a huge thing — especially in my family. … If you don’t respect people, people aren’t going to respect you back. It’s just about yourself, you respecting others, and hopefully everyone else will follow that and respect you, as well.

It’s about keeping your life private as much as you can.

CNN: Do you think the press has always been respectful of you?

Miley: No, I think the media always tried to overdo it. It’s really no one else’s business how my parents raised me. Everyone has that right — and they’ve got their kids and the way they want to raise them. And so for anyone to say I don’t have that, as well, makes me feel like I’m not a person — which I am. And so sometimes people do get reminded of that. That I am just a person.
