Booked to Sing on “Dancing with the Stars”

Miley Cyrus has kicked off promotional effort for her upcoming release by securing slots at several major TV shows. Recently, she has been tapped to make a live performance at the upcoming episode of “Dancing with the Stars” on May 18. The “Hannah Montana” star is going to showcase her new single “Can’t Be Tamed”.
Joining Miley on the Tuesday’s result show of the reality dancing show is another musical guest Sarah McLachlan. The 42-year-old singer is scheduled to take the stage for a medley of her new single “Loving You Is Easy” and her classic “Angel”.
In addition to singing on “DWTS”, Miley is also scheduled to rock the Rumsey Playfield in Central Park on June 18 for “Good Morning America” summer concert. Moreover, two days before her album “Can’t Be Tamed” arrives in the U.S. stores on June 22, she will fly to Canada to co-host 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards.

Dad Defends Miley’s Racy Footage

Miley Cyrus’ dad Billy Ray Cyrus has defended his daughter over new video footage which features the teen ‘dirty dancing’ with a 44-year-old movie producer. The “Hannah Montana” star was filmed enjoying a night out at the wrap party for her latest movie “The Last Song” last year, and the footage went public online this week.
In it, the then-16 year old and appears to be grinding up against openly gay Hollywood producer Adam Shankman on the dancefloor. But Cyrus’ dad, country music singer Billy Ray, is playing down the controversy surrounding her behavior, insisting she was innocently “having fun.” He tells TMZ.com, “It’s what people her age do.”
It is not the first time Miley has been embroiled in a scandal – she came under fire in 2008 when semi-naked photos of her appeared in Vanity Fair magazine. Cyrus’ clean-cut reputation was further sullied when an internet hacker allegedly accessed her cell phone and uploaded a series of saucy snaps of the teen star in her underwear.

We just had our final HM table read. Wow. I can’t believe it is coming to an end. I started this show as a 12 year old girl from Nashville with dreams bigger than I could handle alone! I am so blessed to have had Disney take me under their wing and lead me to where I am today!
The producers, writers, cast, and crew have been my rock for the last 5 years. Knowing I won’t see them everyday is really hard wrap my head around. I’ve had the same routine since 7th grade and I will be graduating at the end of this year.
Every day I have school with Emily, lunch with Jason, Moises and I play with the dogs, and I get to work with all of these people that I love so much. Wow. Wow. Wow. All of this is just beginning to sink in. I will miss Hannah Montana so much.

Miley Has Dinner with Justin Bieber
Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber have been spotted dining together in West Hollywood.
The teen stars — Miley, 17, and Justin, 16 — were seen lunching at Ari-Ya Sushi restaurant.
According to TMZ, Bieber failed to answer when a reporter asked whether the duo were on a date, insisting Miley’s “just having fun with me.”
Cyrus said she wasn’t “afraid” of receiving death threats from obsessed Bieber fans, as Kim Kardashian did after she spent time with the singer at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
After the meal, Bieber wrote on his Twitter page, “met up with a friend tonight for some dinner….”
Miley said earlier this year that she isn’t a fan of Justin’s music.
“Bieber fever… I’m not necessarily a fan. I don’t listen to that kind of music,” she said in March.

Nashville Rising Concert!

Miley Cyrus is teaming up with gal pal Taylor Swift, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw to participate in the Nashville Rising Concert in June.
“Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert For Flood Recovery” will take place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, and will feature a who’s who of country music.
Miley, 17, told JJJ earlier today about if the flood actually affected her property in Tennessee. She shared, “It kind of affected us. We have a big farm with crops and I think that was affected a little bit. Our house is really old, with no remodel because my mom loved the look of it so the fence we had got torn a bit from the wind.”
She continued, “The scariest thing was not being able to get in touch with people because the phone lines were down. I’ve never really had to go through that before but it was scary.”

When Miley Cyrus, 17, released her new music video last week, chatter about her attire (fetish gear), suggestive dance moves (writhing on her back) and setting (inside a black bird cage) spread like wildfire.
Some fans were you-go-girl positive. But the majority of people seemed shocked to see Ms. Cyrus — who will appear as the wholesome title character in “Hannah Montana” on the Disney Channel for another year — taking a naughty page from Lady Gaga. “I don’t want to explain to my kids why Hannah Montana has no pants on in her latest video,” said a post on the blog MomLogic.com.
Whether a 17-year-old should be using sex to sell CDs can be debated, and it is too early to tell whether the brand has sustained any lasting damage. (Previous scandals involving Ms. Cyrus have not dented ratings.) The real surprise might be that the Walt Disney Company helped it happen.
Hollywood Records, Ms. Cyrus’s label, is owned by Disney. Although she personally paid most of the video’s cost, the label at the least oversaw its creation and distributed it.
It’s not uncommon for divisions of media conglomerates to work against one another — except at Disney, which aggressively extols its companywide synergy to investors.
So, given Disney’s strict franchise management, how could one division participate in the creation and distribution of a product that could imperil one of the company’s most valuable properties? Disney declined to comment beyond a statement: “Miley, at 17, is now making creative choices as a solo recording artist that reflects her own personal style and vision. Miley was 12 years old when she began portraying the fictional character of Hannah Montana who continues to be beloved by millions of Disney Channel fans.”

“I Give Liam Two Thumbs Up as a Kisser!”

LOS ANGELES – The hyper and bubbly Miley Cyrus could not contain her excitement when we asked her how great a kisser her leading man, Liam Hemsworth, was in “The Last Song.”
With a big wide smile, Miley said, “I give him two thumbs up!”
In her first drama movie, Miley falls in love with Liam, a charming Australian surfer dude who plays Will Blakelee in the movie.
“Liam is a great guy. He is my soulmate and my best friend forever,” she confessed.
We reminded Miley that last time we talked to her, she told us that she loves to talk so much so she doesn’t mind if her boyfriend was quiet. So is Liam quiet, we asked.
“No,” she quickly replied with a smile. “Yeah, that wish did not come true. He’s not quiet. I am pretty quick. I jazz back and forth but somehow he always one-ups me and it really makes me angry. It’s like everything he does, he always has something that’s funnier. Just like the other day, he was talking to my dog and my dog did accidents all over the house. With a blank facial expression, he goes, ‘I am so angry,’ but he didn’t look angry at all and my mom cracked up for like 20 minutes. He’s really funny and sometimes it intimidates me that everyone else laughs at his jokes and not mine. So I’m always looking for new material.”
